After all the discussion and information gathering, it seems that the Michigan Chapter of the Sierra Club already has an official position on this subject. Anna Holden showed me the position that was included in the 2006 Michigan Chapter Energy policy sent to National.
She will get it to me in electronic form so that I can send it out as well as posted here.
For the record, we are against it.
