Subsidized corn-based ethynol

After all the discussion and information gathering, it seems that the Michigan Chapter of the Sierra Club already has an official position on this subject. Anna Holden showed me the position that was included in the 2006 Michigan Chapter Energy policy sent to National.
She will get it to me in electronic form so that I can send it out as well as posted here.
For the record, we are against it.
Thanks to all for the vigorous debate.

Voters Respond to the Threat of Global Warming

Voters around the world are responding to climate change. Click here to read the full associated press article.

Also, if you'd like to know more about climate change in Michigan, a good place to start would be the Michigan Climate page of the Union of Concerned Scientists Web site. Make sure to check out the documents at the bottom of that page, "Impacts on Michigan Communities and Ecosystems" and "Global Warming Solutions for Michigan." These documents are based on a report co-written by Union of Concerned Scientists and the Ecological Society of America.

Environmental Ads

Now this is a cool ad for the environment! Of course, the SEMG can't endorse the methods these kids use to bring about environmental change, but ...

Welcome to the SEMG Blog!

If you'd like to know more about environmental issues in southeast Michigan, then bookmark this blog! Here you'll find SEMG leaders and other active members talking about all things environmental, with a focus, of course, on the issues effecting our little corner of the state.

There's a lot going on, and SEMG leaders have a lot to say, so check back often!
